Alfons served as moderator for “Towards Net Zero: Smart Building Innovations from Europe and Hong Kong”, co-organised by the Business Environment Council and the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, with support from Invest Hong Kong and NonnaAnna Studio.
The panel featured senior representatives from Veolia Hong Kong & Macau, InvestHK, and NonnaAnna, offering perspectives on how technology, design, and policy can work together to accelerate the shift to a net-zero built environment.
Under Alfons’s moderation, the discussion emphasised:
- The need for policy evolution to keep pace with technological innovation
- The complexity of net-zero as a systems challenge requiring multi-stakeholder collaboration
- The role of governance as the structural foundation for sustainable infrastructure
The session highlighted the intersection between environmental policy, innovative engineering, and governance, a combination critical for scalable, lasting climate impact.
